The Second Youth Olympic Games release its slogan

The up-and-coming stars of Olympic sport will step into the spotlight in China in 2014, and their stage now has its official motto. Organizers for the Second Youth Olympic Games announced the slogan "Share the games, Share Our Dreams" in a Slogan Unveiling Ceremony. The motto invokes the meaning of the Olympic spirit, and a gathering of encouragement, friendship and development.

The Chinese Olympic Committee introduced the slogan as a unique brand of the Youth Olympic Games, as well as the cultural essence of the host city of Nanjing.

"Share the games, Share Our Dreams"

The Youth Games Organization began collecting slogan ideas from around the world in October of last year. The Nanjing Youth Olympic Games asked the public to choose three slogans from six candidates. The results, combined with expert opinions, were submitted to the Executive Board of the Committee and IOC for review and confirmation. The new slogan will be spread around the world in six United Nations official languages, promoting the spirit of the Youth Olympic Games to every corner of the globe.

Wang Fei resets 1500m speed skating Asian record

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
