In tennis, Roger Federer looks ready to close the season on a strong note. He faced off in the final of the Swiss Indoors in Basel, against Japanese wild card Kei Nishikori. It was Federers 98th career ATP final, and only Nishikoris third.
Nishikori met his idol Federer for the first time, and held serve in the opening game. But the Swiss rattled off the next seven straight against the world number 32 from Japan.

Federer slammed five aces and no double faults, while Nishikori took only six points off Federers serve in a 6-1 first set blowout. Nishikori played tougher in the second set. He saved two break points in the second game to stop Federers run.
But Federer got a service break in the sixth game and rolled on from there. Nishikori was helpless against a perfect lob that resulted in the Swiss masters fifth break point conversion. Federer saved a break point himself and finished off the match with a forehand smash 6-1, 6-3 was the final. Federer wins his 68th ATP tournament title.
