Golf now from the Australian Open, where Tiger Woods headed into Saturday's third round in a place he hasn't been in quite some time...on top of the leaderboard. But Tiger would revert to his more recent form on day three.

The 14-time major winner was looking to revitalize his career after two years blighted by personal problems and injury. Woods opened the day with three straight bogeys on his way to a 75. Tiger's last career win came at this event two years ago. He will head into the final round six shots off the pace in a share of eighth.

Tiger Woods plays at the 2011 Australian Open at The Lakes Golf Club in Sydney.

Former champion John Senden hit a course record-equalling nine-under-par 63 to outshine fellow Aussie Jason Day. Senden won his home Open in 2006, and he carded an eagle and seven birdies, the last with a tough 30-foot putt at the18th. He stands at 12-under for the tournament.

Day is currently Australias top ranked golfer and number seven in the world. He celebrated his 24th birthday with a round of 68 to sit one back in second place.

Australian Greg Chalmers is third at 10-under after three rounds, one shot better than compatriot Nick OHern and American Nick Watney, who share fourth.

John Senden said: "Theres a long way to go, Im just trying to stay focused on what I need to do. Shooting nine-under is something you dont do very often so youve got to take ! it when you get it and put yourself in a good spot and being in contention, thats what we all train to do. Win lose or draw Im going to be out there doing my best tomorrow."
