Pearson is another 25 year old, and became the first Australian to win the best female athlete award since it was introduced in 1988. She won 15 of 16 races and grabbed the world 100m hurdles title in 12.28 seconds, the fastest time in 19 years. Her run at the world championships made her the fourth quickest woman of all time over the 100m hurdles, but the 2008 Olympic silver medalist said she could have gone faster.
