World number one Rafael Nadal went after his sixth Barcelona Open title in seven years. He met Spanish compatriot David Ferrer in Sunday's final.
Nadal got down to business early. He broke serve three times in the opening set, as Ferrer kept missing first serve opportunites. Nadal scored off his own serve on set point and took the opener 6-2.
Ferrer went 2-games down in the second set before rallying with a forehand to the corner. He took the next four games and opened up a 4-2 lead.
But Nadal was too tough. He broke the Ferrer serve again and then levelled the scoreline before collecting his sixth break of the match.
