There's been a shock at the UK Snooker Championships. Ronnie O'Sullivan has been sent crashing out in the first round by Stuart Bingham.

The Rocket's world ranking has slipped down to 8th, and he was looking for a championship on home soil. He went into the second session tied with Bingham at 4-4.

As they resumed, O'Sullivan found his stride immediately and had his nose in front for the first time in the match at 5-4.

He then extended his advantage to 6-4. But from there on in he failed to get to grips with the contest and allowed Bingham back into it.

O'Sullivan played a string of poor shots. The door was left ajar for Bingham.

Bingham accepted and would go on to record a famous 9-6 win. O'Sullivan will be cursing his form.
