The Texas Rangers have found the wrong time to go in a slump. The A-L West's top team has dropped four of six games. The team chasing them for the division lead -- the Los Angeles Angels have won six straight and now only trail Texas by two-and-a-half games for first spot in the division.
Texas hosting Boston. Red Sox slugger David Ortiz back in the line-up after missing time with bursitis in his right heel -- he's in form as he lashes one down the line to bring in another run, 2-0 Boston.
Still in the first and Carl Crawford doubles to the corner in right. That is deep enough to plate one run -- possibly another as Ortiz hesitates at third. He was able to beat the throw at home after Mike Napoli juggles the ball at the plate -- nice effort Napoli. 4-nothing Sox after 1.
Off to the sixth and Boston continues the hit parade. Jacoby Ellsbury hits one just inside the foul pole to increase the lead to 9-1.
Seventh inning and the Carl Crawford at the dish. He goes to straight away centre for his 9th bomb of the year. Crawford finished with a career high 5 RBI as the Bosox crush the Rangers 13-2
