China's Lei Sheng upset by Minuto in foil final

In fencing, gold medal favorite Lei Sheng of China took on diminutive opponent Martino Minuto of Italy in the men's foil final.

Lei, who anchored China's team foil champion team in last year's World Championships, took a healthy lead throughout most of the match, however, the Italian produced a memorable comeback in late stages, upsetting the world no. 1 with a 15-13 victory. Lei had to settle for a silver.

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
