For more on the preparation efforts for the 2011 Universiade, we are joined on the line by our reporter Wang Guan, who is in Shenzhen now covering the event.

Q1: Many people say this year's Universiade in Shenzhen will be different from any other similar events before. And you have covered major sporting events such as the 2008 Olympics. It is very difficult to beat the Beijing Olympics. Can you tell us exactly how will the 2011 Universiade opening ceremony be different?

Q2: Many athletes participating in the event are still college students and we many never heard of them. Any star athlete this time? And why is this year's Universiade something people cannot miss out on?

Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
