Base jumpers leap from Seoul Tower
Watch Video
In new heights and the perilous pursuit of Base jumping, for the first time the extreme sport journeyed to South Korea as a group of American daredevils set their sights of leaping from the top of the Seoul Tower.
The 236-metre tall structure dominates the sky line of the South Korean capital. Once the thrill seekers reached the top, they had to decide who would be the first to make history. And like most important decisions a game of "rock, paper, scissors' settled it. Mike Swanson was the winner or loser, depending on how you see things. He will be remembered forever in the sports anals as the first BASE jumper to take to the air in South Korea. This stunt almost didn't happen, and it wasn't because of a lack of courage, but over a frightening array of administrative and even military hoops they had to jump through - any one of which could have put the whole project in jeopardy.
