On the sideline of the on-going Universiade, I sat down with the President of the International University Sports Federation. He told CCTV News why he believes the Shenzhen Games marks the beginning of a new age for the Universiade.

George Killian, President of the International University Sports Federation, said, "The opening ceremony is by far the best that we have ever had in the history of Universiade."

Wang Fei resets 1500m speed skating Asian record

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
