Kobe leads Lakers past Hawks 104-80

L-A Lakers are counting on All-Star game hero Kobe Bryant to be in MVP mode for the second half of the season. The Lakers matched up against the Atlanta Hawks at the Staples Center Tuesday night.
Bryant and Derek Fisher presented Atlanta reserve Josh Powell with his championship ring. Powell spent the last two seasons with the Lakers before signing with Atlanta this season.
Bryant then picked up where he left off Sunday. He gave the Lakers an early 8-0 lead.
Shannon Brown slammed a dunk for L-A. The Lakers jumped ahead by 14. Brown scored 15 points.
Just before the half...Pau Gasol sank a hoop and drew a foul. Lakers by 22...the Spaniard would finish with 14 points on the night.
Bryant to Andrew Bynum...it was 54-33 at halftime. Bynum racked up 15 rebounds and three blocked shots to go with his five points.
The Lakers outscored the Hawks 26-21 in the third quarter. Bryant drained a three pointer. Kobe hauled 20 points.
This one was an L-A runaway. Devin Ebanks finishes the ally-oop dunk. The Lakers went on to close out the Hawks 104-80 and ended their three-game skid.
Heat Dismantle Kings 117-97
Opening frame...fast break...LeBron James down the lane for Miami. He converts the lob pass in style...the Heat soared into a home court lead. (replay) James with a powerful play...one of the best of the game.
Second quarter...the 3-point champ James Jones scores and the Heat pulled away with a 42-19 lead.
LeBron nailed a three in the third quarter and Miami made it a 26-point game...James with 31 on the night.
Then Mario Chalmers drove in ! for a re verse lay-up. Chalmers added 14.
More from LeBron. He hit a basket on the drive, and Miami did not give Sacramento any chance to get a run going.
Dwayne Wade added 23 points, and landed an acrobatic lay-up to amaze the Miami crowd. The Heat coasted to a 117-97 victory, their 11th win in their last 12 games.
