Djokovic beats Federer for 3rd straight Dubai title

A dramatic showdown in men's tennis on Saturday...four-time winner Roger Federer and two-time defending champion Novak Djokovic went head-to-head in the 2011 final of the ATP Dubai championships.
This was a repeat of their semi-final clash at the Australian Open. Federer opened the match with a 1-0 lead, but Djokovic fought back and brought the first set level at 1.
The Serbian world number three started to build some distance. He broke the Federer serve to go up 2-1 up in the the first set.
And that put the pressure on Federer. The former world number one lost his serve again in the ninth game. Djokovic moved ahead in the match by taking the first set 6 games to three.
Federer, raised his game in the second set. He recorded a a big service break of his own in the third game. But the Swiss had not answer for Djokovic's intensity and defensive skills. Watch this exchange during a rally with break point in the balance during the sixth game. Djokovic fends off Federer from the baseline, and when the Swiss comes to the net, he makes a mistake on an overhead. The Serbian Djokovic, drew level in the second set.
Djokovic quickly pulled away from there. Federer's backhand just wasn't working in the final, and Djokovic raced through his last service game. He wrapped up a 6-3 6-3 vicotry in just 71 minutes, winning the last five games of the match and taking a third straight Dubai title
Novak Djokovic, Winner of 2011 Dubai Tennis Championships, said, "Yeah, it's a fantastic win, I raised up to the occasion and played a fantastic match from the start to the end, you know? Yesterday, I wasn't happy! with my semi-final performance, but today was an absolutely different story and from the first to the last point, I played great. It was a big challenge against Roger, as it always is and (I am) just really happy to win a third one in a row."
