Cavaliers end 26 game losing streak, edge Clippers 126-119

December 18th...that was the last time the Cleveland Cavaliers won a game. Now, nearly two months later, and after 26 straight losses...the Cavs were hoping that streak would come to an end on Saturday, fittingly, against the traditionally brutal L.A. Clippers.

Antawn Jamison and the Cavs...at home, and ready to finally get a win.

But at the end of the first half...something that can only happen a team that has lost 26 straight. with 6 tenths of a second on the clock...Blake Griffin converts to send the Clippers into the break with the one point lead.

Jump to late in this one...and the Cavaliers, with the lead...stretch it.

Mo Williams, drills the triple to put Cleveland up 6, Williams in his first game in nearly a month.

Dying seconds, the Clippers up two...when Williams steps up, drilling the jumper to tie it at 110 with with 6.3 seconds to play...Williams with 17 points and 14 assists

The Clippers, with a chance to extend the losing streak of the Cavs with one last possession, but Baron Davis...but JJ Hickson gets up for the rejection...and this one was off to overtime.

Final minute of OT, and the Cavs up four..but uh oh, here come the Clippers. Randy Foye with the three to cut the Cavs lead to one...120-119.

And with the Cavs needing a big shot...step up Antawn Jamison. He drills the three, and the Cavs finally get off their 26 game slide...126-119 the final.

Lakers beat New York Knicks 113-96

Elsewhere, the other LA team had a much easier night.

The Lakers visited Madison Square Garden and another big night for Kobe Bryant.

Bryant ! scored 1 9 in the first quarter to set the tempo for the game with Lakers' rhythm. This one-on-one play ended with a buzzer hitter to put LA up by two, 30-28.

Early in the second quarter, Shannon Brown was fed in the air for a wuthering alley-oop that lingered him at the hoop. 43-37, Lakers.

Into the third, Paul Casol fakes a shot, turns a three-step lay-up into a slam dunk, and made it 66-52.

Bryant shot 12 of 17 from the field and hit four 3-pointers for a game high 33 points

The Lakers made 54 percent of their shots for a 113-96 win.
