Green Bay Packers fans rejoiced one more time with their Super Bowl champions on Tuesday during a frigid ceremony to welcome the Lombardi Trophy back to the frozen tundra of Lambeau Field after a 14-year absence.

The celebration capped a party that has been going non-stop in Green Bay since Sunday, when the Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 31-25 to win their fourth Super Bowl title and first since 1997.

The ceremony shone a spotlight on the decades-old love affair between the team and the NFL's smallest-market city.

Veteran wide receiver Donald Driver, who injured an ankle in the Super Bowl and couldn't finish the game, was given a standing ovation before saying anything to the crowd.

Driver told fans from a stage in the center of the field that "The Lombardi trophy is back where it belongs."

Super Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers, the quarterback for the Packers and the Green Bay faithful ignored the freezing temperatures and kept the celebrations going well after the rally officially ended.

Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds.
