China grabs gold in Women's 3000m relay

We begin with action from the Asian Winter Games, where China currently sits third on the medal table, with 8 golds.

China trails the hosts Kazakhstan who have 13 and South Korea with 10. Day three of competition brought a busy and very eventful round of competition in speed skating.

In the Women's 3000m relay, Japan's Biba Sakurai took out Hwang Hyun-sun.

China's Zhou, Liu, Fan Kexin and Zhang Hui took the gold medal at a canter and following an appeal, Japan was disqualified, South Korea were reinstated to silver and Kazakhstan picked up another surprise bronze.

Wang Fei resets 1500m speed skating Asian record

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
