3 Pakistan cricketers banned 5 years for corruption

Three of Pakistan's stars from its national cricket team have all received lengthy playing bans for their role in match fixing. They were found guilty of corruption by the sport's International Cricket Council.
Former Pakistan Test captain Salman Butt, and fast bowlers Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir found out their respective fates at an International Cricket Council tribunal in Doha.
The ICC's anti-corruption tribunal chairman Michael Beloff read out the verdicts of the three-man panel.
They were found guilty of corruption by the sport's International Cricket Council.
Michael Beloff, QC, Chairman, ICC Anti-Corruption Tribunal, said, "We impose the following sanctions: On Mr. Butt, a sanction of ten years ineligibility, five years of which are suspended on condition that he commits no further breach of the code and that he participates under the auspices of the Pakistan Cricket Board in a programme of Anti-Corruption education."
