MLB launces baseball academy in Changzhou

The Major League Baseball is continuing its effort to promote the game in China as the world's top baseball league is opening baseball academies in the world's most populous country.

The Major League Baseball launched a new baseball academy in China's eastern city Changzhou. It marked its recent strategy in promote the game at the grassroots level in the country.

This Changzhou Baseball Development Center is a joint effort by the MLB and one of its clubs: the Colorado Rockies. Owner of the franchise Charlie Monfort was on hand to inaugurate the center. Monfort hopes to one day introduce a baseball prodity from the center to play in the MLB and for his club.

The center is based at the Changzhou Beijiao High School compound. It features a "student-athlete" model, which combines school education and baseball training. MLB sends coaching staff to engineer baseball talents and help them improve their skills.

The MLB said they have been committed to promote baseball in China since 2003. Changzhou Development Center is the second of its kind after the Wuxi DC was founded! two yea rs ago. The organizers are confident that their efforts will become fruitful in the future despite that baseball is yet to be a popular sport in China.

For those young talents, patience is indeed what they have to endure before they come out as a baseball star one day. The good thing is baseball talents will be able to realize their dreams under the world's most advanced baseball training programs.
