With the controversy of Monday night's 110m hurdles World Championship final behind him, China's silver medal winning hurdler Liu Xiang has headed home to Shanghai.
Liu was elevated to the silver medal at the World Championships in Daegu after initial winner Dayron Robles of Cuba was disqualified after the race for impeding Liu over the final two hurdles. America's Jason Richardson picked up the gold.
With his usual easy-going demeanour, Liu arrived at the gate of the athletes village riding a bicycle. The t-shirt he was wearing, fittingly, giving everything he's been through in the last few days, bearing the slogan, "Sport is more than winning or losing."
Addressing the media, before heading home, Liu said he is looking forward to spending China's Mid-Autumn Festival with his family. Liu will head to Beijing on Thursday for the unveiling of a new apparel line bearing his name, produced by one of his major sponsors.
