The final round of the European Masters in Switzerland on Sunday could have easily gone one of three ways. Jamie Donaldson, Martin Kaymer and Thomas Bjorn all played brilliant golf in a fierce battle for the title.

Damp cool conditions greeted the golfers on Sunday. Welshman Jamie Donaldson, held a one stroke lead at the start of the day. A stunning tee shot at the 11th set him up for his first birdie of the day.

But he was unable to match his third round form and his one-under-par round of 70 saw him finish in third place.

Germany's Martin Kaymer made a blistering start to his fourth round with eagles at the first and fifth holes.

But He was unable to sustain that form through the second half of his round, parring all nine holes, leaving the door ajar for Thomas Bjorn of Denmark. The winner of the Johnnie Walker Championship seven days ago had a superb second shot at the par five 15th setting up an eagle.

He went on to birdie the 17th hole and finished his round with a birdie at the 18th, for a ! stunning nine-under-par round of 62 to capture the title.

Victory in Crans Montana gives Bjorn his 13th European Tour title, and his third of the year.
