Mavs overcome Heat 112-103, take 3-2 lead in NBA Finals

The Dallas Mavericks, loaded with 30-somethings or late 30s, entertained the Miami Heat and the Big Three for the Game 5 of the series after tied it at 2-all. The Mavs looked to carry on their momentum they built in Game 2 and 4, taking a giant step towards their first NBA championship title.

Both sides played neck-and-neck, Nowitzki would hoist 29 points, this triple put the Mavs on top by 5 midway through third.

LeBron James finished the night with a triple double of 17 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists.

J. J. Barea had a solid performance with 17 points, his three point play helped the Mavs stayed in a healthy lead.

Dallas shot 60 percent through three quarters.

Wade nailed a triple with less than 5 minutes remaining, and that put Miami back on top by 4, however, the Heat would repeat their collapse in game 2 and 4 again.

Eventually, the Mavs coasted to a 112-103 victory, moving ahead 3-2, are on the brink of the championship title. The Heat get the final two games at home, but history is against them as they try to win a title in their first season together: In the 26 previous times finals that were tied 2-2, the Game 5 winner won 19 of them.
