Beckham wants to play at Olympics

Soccer star David Beckham is talking about his chance to be a part of British football team history. Becks showed up in Manila with the Los Angeles Galaxy, for a friendly match with the Philippine national team this weekend. He says he is looking forward to returning to London next summer, when his hometown hosts the 2012 Olympics, and hopes to be part of a Great Britain side in the soccer tournament.
Beckham said:"Im very proud of playing for my country, and having the Olympics in London next year. I would love to be part of the GB team, I would love to be part of a successful team, especially to have an Olympics in a part of London where I grew up as a child. So hopefully Ill be involved in that and hopefully Ill be going back to London next summer."

The 36-year-old midfielder said he hasnt made a decision on his future. His $6.5 million U-S dollar contract with L.A. Galaxy expires on December 31. Beckham has been linked with a move to Paris St. Germain, a team backed by Qatari investment. There have also been rumors connecting him with Queens Park Rangers and Tottenham Hotspur. The LA Galaxy won the Major League Soccer championship last month, and have embarked on an Asia-Pacific tour with stops in Indonesia, the Philippines and Australia. The MLS club beat an Indonesian all-star team 1-0 in Jakarta on Wednesday, and are set to face t! he Phili ppine Azkals in a friendly match on Saturday. The Galaxy will continue its tour in Australia, and face Melbourne Victory of the A-League on December 6.
