NBA arenas are bustling with action on the hardwood once again with preseason games underway and the regular season due to start soon. The end of the NBA lockout signifies not only the return of all the excitement that the games bring, but a kick start to the economic status of those who depend on the games being played.

Imagine if this time had never come. Imagine if there were no NBA games being played for the 2011-2012 season because of the lockout. Imagine if the players and owners hadnt resolved their differences and the entire season was wiped out. Not only would it have affected the players and fans. It would have greatly affected the people who are on-call to work at NBA games.

Negotiations aimed at ending the NBA lockout that reached it's 146th day on Wednesday
have resumed with the goal of ending the money squabble in time to play games on

The calls for them to come to players and owners resolved differences and signed a new agreement governing their relationship for up to 10 more years. This means game day workers such as security guards, cashiers, box office personnel and parking attendants can once again depend on the extra money.

Felipe Torre! s, parki ng attendant, said, Its very important due to the fact that I need money as well. so it helps me out.

The lockout lasted for 161 days. The end result is that this season is 16 games short of a normal regular season of 82 games. This also means a late December start. As for the players they understand that the game-day workers rely on them playing their sport.

Deandre Jordan, L. A. Clipper center, said, Im happy for them to be back. It was a tough time for them not to be able to come back into work. We had to sit out just to get something good for the players. 4:10:17- all I can say it apologize to those guys. All I can say is apologize to those guys but now we are ready to play so thats all that matters. "

So with the NBA preseason here and the long awaited regular season just around the corner, there is more to cheer about than just the on-court action.

David Ronnenberg, a NBA fan, said, "There are thousands of people who are supported by the sport and we are excited to see them get back to work as well.

Beverly James, NBA fans, said, "Its great to see them back at work because I know this has been tedious a long for them unemployment is sky high all over the state so were glad that the Staples center workers are back.

With NBA arenas hosting games again theres a ripple effect on the economy. Area restaurants, bars and other business establishments can also count on the extra income.
