ICC expands cricket rankings

Top international cricketers have thrown their weight behind the ICC T20I team and player rankings, which were officially launched, on Monday, saying it will give more meaning to one-off matches and also provide the players a good chance to assess their game.

Reigning ICC World Twenty20 champion England was unveiled as the No. 1 ranked side while Eoin Morgan of England, Sri Lanka's Ajantha Mendis and Australia's Shane Watson were announced the top-ranked batsman, bowler and all-rounder, respectively, on Monday.

Wang Fei resets 1500m speed skating Asian record

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
