MLB: Atlanta claims 6-5 win over St. Louis

To Major League Baseball now, where it's been a bad week for Atlanta Braves starter Derrick Lowe. He was picked up for a DUI on Thursday, and was looking to put that behind him on Sunday, as he took to the hill for the Braves as they wrapped up their weekend set with the St. Louis Cardinals at Turner field. The Cards, taking the first two of three.
Pick it up, top of five, and Albert Pujols rips the Lowe offering back up the middle, that plates pitcher Jaime Garcia, to put the Cards on top 4-0. Lowe, would leave after this inning, down 4-0.
After Garcia threw four perfect innings to open the game, the Braves broke through in the bottom of the fifth, one man on for Alex Gonzalez. And he took Garcia deep to left center, the two run jack making it a 4-2 ball game.
Later in the same inning, runners on the corner for pinch hitter Brandon Hicks, and he singles home Joe Mather with the single to left, the Braves, now down 4-3.
Bottom seven, the Braves levelled and then took the lead as Martin Prado slaps a single to right off Jason Motte to drive in Mather to give Atlanta a 5-4 lead.
St. Louis would tie it in the eighth, and in the bottom of nine, runners on first and second for pinch-hitter Brooks Conrad and his bloop to right will fall in, Gonzalez comes around to score from second base to lift Atlanta to the 6-5 win.
Angels come back to beat Rays 6-5
In other action, Los Angeles Angels took on the Tampa Bay Rays. Tampa Bay went up 5-0 in the first, but Hank Conger cut the deficit to 5-1 with a second-inning homer off Rays rookie starter Alex Cobb. The third Cong on the season for Conger.
Top five, more from the Angels, Bobby Abreu's single to right off Cobb scores one, to cut the Rays lead to 5-2.
Later in the inning, the the Angels, within one now, and Alberto Callaspo singles home Howie Kendric! k from s econd to cap off a four-run inning and pull the Angels even at five.
Top of eight, the Angels, complete the comeback. Runners on the corners, no-one out, for Conger, he hits into the double play, but Torii Hunter would come across for the go-ahead run, and Los Angeles would hold on for the 6-5 come from behind win to take two of three games in the weekend series with the Rays.
