The seventh Diamond League meeting of the year took place in Lausanne, Switzerland on Thursday. And it was Jamaica's Asafa Powell, headlining the stop as he turned in the fastest 100m of the year so far.

No Usain Bolt or Tyson Gay, but Asafa Powell made up for their absence with a blistering performance. The Jamaican clocked 9.78 seconds, the fastest time in the world this year, to take the win.

His compatriot Michael Frater was 0.1 seconds behind him, while Frenchman Christophe Lemaitre settled in third.

Cuban star Dayron Robles won a tight men's 110m high hurdles in a solid time of 13.12 seconds ahead of Jamaica's Dwight Thomas and Jason Richardson of the United States.
