Touching moments highlight 2011 CBA all-star game

The 2011 CBA All-Star game will be remembered for a number of touching moments. The fans who took in the game not only witnesses to the best players in China, but also witnesses to a romantic marriage proposal.

Instead of his basketball uniform, CBA All-Star guard Zhang Qingpeng showed up for the game's introductions wearing a suit and tie to everyone's surprise.

Zhang then headed into the crowd to find one special girl as he created a very special moment.

"Please marry me!"

His girlfriend appeared a bit shy at first, but then happily accepted his proposal.

"I will marry you."

Zhang's proposal brought the crowd to it's feet and for the all-star it was the perfect moment.

Zhang Qingpeng, Xinjiang Guard said "Basketball gives me everything. I also dedicate myself to basketball. I hope to use this dedication to engage my life's other half. To me, it's the most appropriate of occasions."

Jiangsu's Wu Nan also delivered a special message prior to taking part in the slam dunk contest. Wu wrote on his jersey words of support for his teammate Meng Da, whose mother passed away ! on Sunda y.

Wu, letting Meng know that the Jiangsu team is with him as he deals with this very difficult time.

And on a night filled with touching momnets, former NBA star Stephon Marbury and CBA legend Mengke Bateer also made one of their own.

As they were introduced, they shared the spotlight with young school children.

Wang Fei resets 1500m speed skating Asian record

Watch Video Play Video A long-awaited moment for China at the Asian Winter Games. It happened during a gold medal run in the women's 1500 meters speed skating event. Chinese skater Wang Fei raced her way into the record books. She set a new Asian mark for the 1500 metres, crossing the line at 1 minute 58.37 seconds. It was 1-and-a-half seconds under the previous record time she set four years ago. South Korean Noh Seonyeong took second place. The bronze went to Japanese skater Kodaira Nao.
