British boxers announce London bout

Watch Video Play Video British boxers David Haye and Dereck Chisora are taking their differences to the ring in July. They announced the details for their heavyweight showdown which will take place at London's West Ham football stadium, despite neither of them having a British boxing license. Three months after their infamous brawl at a post-match press conference in Munich, the two announced they will fight in the ring on July 14th. The fight at London's Upton Park football stadium is being sanctioned by the Luxembourg Boxing Federation, after the British Boxing Board of Control refused involvement because neither fighter has a license. Haye relinquished his license when he retired last October, while Chisora had his revoked after his brawl with Haye. Tuesday's news conference Upton Park was heated and entertaining, as the two men continued to exchange insults. The July bout is being called "License to Thrill", and is expected to be a sell-out. But the squad suffered a pre-Olympic wake-up call with a loss to Germany on Sunday. The squad is the only Australian team in any sport to win medals in the last five Olympic Games, including a gold medal in Athens in 2004, and the team is getting in some vital European practice, including a test event at the new Olympic hockey venue. The ninth-seeded Williams had 13 aces and 40 winners against Vesnina, who was struggling with her game on the slippery blue clay court. An estimated 75-thousand spectators have descended on the Olympic park in London, for five test events ahead of the Games. Saturday marks the first time the main stadium in the heart of the Olympic Park will be open to the public for an athletic competition. Organizers say about 40-thousand people are expected to attend the official opening of the 80,000 seats Olympic Stadium on Saturday evening. The Olympics run from July 27 to August 12 while the Paralympics take place from August 29 to September 9. UK's largest warship sails up Thames River

The 38-metre wide HMS Ocean, berthed at Greenwich in east London ahead of the major security exercise dubbed Olympic Guardian. UK Defence Secretary Philip Hammond visited the warship and addressed some of the crew members on-board. He said he hoped foreign visitors would be reassured by the significant military presence. The sailing of HMS Ocean marks the final phase of Olympic Guardian, which started earlier this week in Weymouth and in the airspace over the capital. The ship will focus on air security over the weekend, with river operations taking place between Tuesday and Thursday next week.
